I love the Raveonettes. They are one of my favourite bands and proof of that is that show up at least 3 times in the pages of this blog. Musically, I never get tired of listening to their records, and the new one, In And Out Of Control is amazing.

They were back with as a full band after their last visit with just an added drummer. Speaking of drummers, I have to mention that this was my second show in a week which featured a stand up drummer. Trend alert. Anyway, they also had a bassist this time, which really helped fill out their sound.

The Raveonettes are sonically beautiful. Noisy guitars and odd haunting harmonies that reckon to another time. My problem with them is that they are so boring live! They barely talk, they barely acknowledge the audience, and they spend half the time performing in either complete darkness or under strobe lights.

After Art Brut, it was hard to not to be slightly disappointed.

The night started at the cellar to see Ben Sigston perform as part of the Peak Performance Project. If you've read this far, check him out and please vote for him here. Also, you can get some free downloads just by checking out www.bensigston.com
