Rob Dickinson is an amazing singer/songwriter who used to lead a band called Catherine Wheel. They were pretty big in the 90's and I really liked them then.
He was in Vancouver to support his new solo album, Fresh Wine For The Horses.
It's quite different from Catherine Wheel. Far more melodic. Catherine Wheel was all crunchy and angry. My favourite songs from the new album are "My Name Is Love" and "Towering and Flowering", both which he played.
It was a solo performance. Just him alone on stage with a guitar and some harmonicas. In a weird way, "My Name Is Love" sounded even better stripped down like that. He was totally personable on stage telling stories about his 6 weeks in Vancouver recording "Adam and Eve" with Catherine Wheel.
After the show, he hung out with the fans like Glen.
